Transparency & privacy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 October 2026 · FolioCV public beta
FolioCV helps people create, edit, store, and export resumes. This policy describes the personal information involved in operating the beta service and the choices available to you.
1. Information we process
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, our authentication system may receive basic identity information you authorize, such as your name, email address, profile picture and a Google-linked account identifier. FolioCV uses this information for sign-in and account management. FolioCV does not need access to your Gmail messages or Google Drive files for basic sign-in.
- Resume content: Information you enter into your resume, including contact details, work history, education, skills, summaries and formatting choices.
- Service information: Resume titles, template selections, creation and update timestamps, account identifiers, and technical/security events that our hosting and authentication providers may process.
- Browser data: FolioCV may save your draft and the active resume reference in your browser's local storage. Authentication may use cookies or similar session storage.
2. How we use information
We process information to authenticate users, provide resume editing and cloud-save features, make PDFs available through your browser, troubleshoot service problems, protect accounts, and respond to support and privacy requests. We do not use Google sign-in data to access unrelated Google services.
3. Storage and service providers
FolioCV uses third-party infrastructure for hosting and authentication/database functionality, including services such as Vercel, Supabase and Google sign-in. These service providers may process data as necessary to deliver their services. Resume data stored in your browser remains on that browser unless you choose to save it to your FolioCV cloud account. Cloud-stored resume data is associated with your signed-in account.
Depending on service-provider infrastructure and configuration, information may be processed or stored outside your country, including in Singapore or other locations where the providers operate.
4. Sharing and selling
We do not sell Google sign-in data or resume content to data brokers. We share information with infrastructure providers only as necessary to operate FolioCV, or when required by applicable law. FolioCV does not currently use customer resumes for an advertised AI-training feature.
5. Security
We use authenticated access and database access controls intended to restrict resume records to their owners. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and avoiding unnecessary sensitive information in resumes.
6. Retention and deletion requests
Cloud resume information is retained while your account and related records remain active, unless a deletion request or other valid requirement applies. Browser-local drafts can be removed through browser storage controls. If you want your FolioCV cloud data or account deleted, email foliocv@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account. We may verify that you own the account before processing the request. Technical backups or legally required records may take additional time to clear.
7. Your rights and choices
You may choose not to use Google login or cloud saving. You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable law, by using the support contact above. You can also manage Google account permissions through your Google account settings.
8. Children
FolioCV is intended for job seekers and is not designed for use by children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by updating this page and, where appropriate, providing additional notice.
